In September of 2013, we launched efforts to assess the state of self-employment and micro-enterprise services for low-income consumers at the local and national level, with the intent of exploring implementation of a self-employment pilot project in Washington State. This research incorporates input from financial experts as well as members of our local communities, and will generate a description of the status of self-employment, entrepreneurship, and micro-enterprise efforts among low and very low-income individuals.
