Entry Level Training to Placement to Advancement Pilot Project – Evaluation Report (2011)

Mar 2014

The Prosperity Agenda partnered with the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound
(CAMPS) and CARES of Washington to develop and implement the pre-employment entry-level Training to Placement to Advancement (TPA) Pilot Project to test its potential for creating a pathway to a living wage job in the manufacturing industry. The four-week accelerated training program was intended as a first step in a career pathway training trajectory. The interest and support to prepare future manufacturing workers is in part due to both high unemployment among individuals who have exhausted their public benefits or who have very low income, and the emerging movement in the local manufacturing industry to hire entry-level workers following a recession-related reduction in jobs.
